Where to even begin! The vans pro cup first stop was to be held in Sydney, what a venue! Located on Manly beach, the most picture perfect location to host an event! Not everything goes to plan in paradise. As I’m sure most of you are aware what was happening over the weekend would have also noticed the consistent British-esque weather Sydney was graced with. Prior to the Vans pro cup the weather was soaring into the 40s, perfect blue skies and a heatwave to accompany them, fast forward to the weekend and the heavens decided it would be a great idea to open up. Regardless the pro cup had to go ahead, with the efforts from everyone to keep the course rideable in between downpours. Squeegees and leaf blowers on deck at the ready. It was cool to see everyone put in work to ride the bowl and smash shit out of it! Once everything was underway there felt like an urgency from the riders to go mental before the weather took its turn again. Larry Edgar, Matt Cordova, Dylan lewis, Tom Dougan and Dennis Enarson to name a few decided to go to the moon, Nyquist decided to run me over (lens survived, thanks for returning it haha) and try a 900 and Sergio… well Sergio showed everyone what was up with the most consistently smooth and stylish riding over the whole weekend!! All in all an absolute banger and good way to kick off the series! Hopefully the weather plays ball at the next stop! Massive thank you to Vans for putting on such a rad event! Until then ✌
